Octane magazine is a leading quality monthly magazine that focuses on the world’s greatest classic and performance cars. Octane’s experienced editorial team draws on the skills of international personalities, motoring journalists, racing drivers, historians, automotive experts and photographers to create what is now described as being ‘the best classic car magazine in the world’. Through its personal contacts, Octane road and track tests the rarest and most valuable historic sports cars that are not available to other motoring magazine, as well as the finest motor cars. Octane covers other good things in life that appeal to its well-heeled readers which I hope is why they wanted to feature my stained glass.

At 1.5 meters square (25 square feet) it’s construction was quite an undertaking. Some said it couldn’t be done, but we happily proved them wrong.

The car took part in a race for Veteran cars at the Brooklands circuit in August 1939 in what was the last ever meeting to be held there before hostilities broke out and it closed forever. Use this link to read all about Brooklands

This 16 horsepower Panhard has a wealth of history – here competing at Precott hillclimb in 1959 and it also took part in the very first revival of the Emancipation Run (dissolution ofthe red flag act for motorcars) to Brighton in 1927 and the actual wooden number board it wore for the ‘Old Crocks Run to Brighton’ is still with the car.
